Meet Johanna
Hi. I’m Johanna Alper –
I have always sought cutting edge transformational movements/modalities to help my personal and our collective evolution. While receiving my BA in dance from San Francisco State University in 1969, I also worked with the peace movement, explored yoga, communal living, and holistic health… when few people had heard the word.
I began practicing meditation in 1971. What– making friends with oneself by doing nothing? Most people thought it was at best a fad that would fade away. I’m so grateful that meditation has helped me cultivate my basic sanity and compassion, grow up, and have the focus to become a person of benefit. In 1982 Pema Chodron asked me to lead a 30 day meditation intensive. Over the years compassion meditation has become the basis of my whole life, and of all my work– Thus Medicine Buddha Coaching.
In 1981 I began practicing Classical Five-Element Acupuncture, and soon I had a thriving practice. Then I began teaching acupuncture and was thrilled at the excellence and professionalism of my students.
Yet, after over twenty years of teaching acupuncture, I saw that the economy had shifted and I was heartbroken to see graduates who were such amazing healers failing to successfully launch their healing practices. So many healers and light workers have incredible gifts, but not the entrepreneurial and business skills to create a successful practice. So I took the leap and began to learn spiritual business coaching with the best coaches. I became certified in accredited business building coaching, and skilled at what I had never expected– marketing and prosperity coaching using Nature’s 5 Elements to help healers thrive and be successful.
I’m so grateful for all my truly amazing teachers and love living a healthy active life at 73 here in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. My aspiration is to continue mentoring and coaching to help you successfully attract more clients, cultivate and share your unique brilliance and healing gifts, and help make a difference in these volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous times.
