Personal Brand Marketing Strategist vs Brand Consultant
Understanding the difference between a brand strategist and a brand consultant is crucial for women entrepreneurs looking to build a standout brand.
A brand strategist focuses on developing an overarching action plan, including objectives, strategies, and tactics that align with long-term business goals. They delve into goal-setting, actions, and execution, ensuring that every aspect of the brand resonates with the target audience and stands out in the marketplace. On the other hand, a brand consultant provides expert advice and guidance on specific branding challenges. They are often brought in for short-term projects to offer high-level insights and solutions, such as improving brand image or performance.
For instance, within the Impact Tribe, Jessie May Keezle is a brand marketing strategist and consultant. She helps members develop comprehensive branding strategies while offering targeted advice to overcome hurdles. This dual approach ensures that women entrepreneurs have a solid brand foundation and receive the expert guidance needed to navigate immediate challenges effectively.
By understanding these roles, Impact Tribe members can better leverage the resources available, whether they need a long-term strategy to build their brand or expert advice to tackle a particular issue. This nuanced understanding empowers them to make informed decisions, creating a more cohesive and impactful brand presence.
Role of a Branding Coach in a Brand-Building Community
A branding coach plays a pivotal role in helping entrepreneurs and businesses understand the intricacies of branding, from foundational principles to advanced strategies. They provide clients with the tools and plans to achieve competitive results in their respective markets. By working closely with business owners, a branding coach helps create a cohesive brand that resonates with the target audience, stands out from competitors, and drives business success. This involves building the brand and training clients to manage and sustain it effectively.
One of the critical responsibilities of a branding coach and a branding community, for that matter, is to offer an outside perspective backed by research and data. This unique viewpoint helps entrepreneurs communicate their brand meaningfully and authentically. A branding coach guides clients through every step of the branding process, from developing a compelling brand story to creating engaging visual identities and marketing messages. They ensure that all brand elements are aligned and consistent, fostering customer trust and loyalty.
Moreover, a branding coach assists in navigating the complexities of modern branding, including digital presence and social media engagement. They help clients identify unique selling propositions (USPs) and craft messages highlighting these strengths. Doing so enables businesses to attract their ideal clients and build a strong, recognizable brand. Whether through one-on-one coaching sessions or group workshops, a branding coach provides the expertise and support needed to elevate a brand’s impact and reach.

If you want to build your following so you can expand your impact and income, your brand must send a clear signal to the people you want to attract… otherwise they won’t be able to find you.
I learned this lesson the hard way back in 2011 when my brand was so confusing that it repelled new members and kept my income and impact small.
But once I learned the brand strategies that I teach my clients today, I was able to grow my local community to over 2,800 dedicated members, fill over 690 events and have a community that always fuels my coaching business with new clients and leads.
Today, in addition to Brand Strategy and Business Coaching, I also coach clients on how to build their own local communities through my online course, Meetup Mastery.
Curious about the official stuff… like my credentials?
- I’m a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach. I received my certification in 2009 from the highly regarded Coaches Training Institute.
- I have a BA in Contemplative Psychology from Naropa University.
- I have an MA in Organizational Communications with a focus in New Media and Internet Marketing from the University of Denver.
- I have a certificate in Organizational Development and Training from the University of Denver.
- I stay up-to-date with current trends and consistently invest in my own development, working world-class coaches to help me grow personally and professionally.
And on a personal note...
I’m a Virgo.
I’m a 1 one the Enneagram.
And a 33 in numerology.
My brand archetypes are (1) Explorer (2) Hero and (3) Ruler.
I thrive on creating order out of chaos, breaking down confusing concepts and simplifying processes so they’re easy to understand.
I have high standards for myself, and my clients, but at the same time, I’m empathetic and understanding.
I strive for spaciousness in this busy world that’s become our norm. And I feel blessed that I’ve built a life where I can meet a girlfriend for coffee or hit the hiking trail in the middle of the afternoon.
I’m most at home in nature, particularly the mountains around Boulder, CO where I live with my husband, Robert, and our two dogs: Junebug the Chihuahua and Ruby the Olde English Bulldog.
I’m an only child… and a closet introvert. Most people are surprised when I tell them I have a love/hate relationship with being in the spotlight.
My childhood was filled with the arts: painting, drawing, acting, singing, dancing and music.
Although I don’t do many of these things in their original form today, it’s no accident that my life’s work evolved into becoming a Brand Strategist. I love getting to co-create “art projects” with my clients where the masterpiece is their brand.
